Description
<edit> I wrote a blogpost about this quilt where I tell about how I made this and a bit more background information Check it out if you like: Portrait of a turtle mini quilt
I was going through my old files and then I found this mini-quilt I once made as a birthday present for a very cool turtle. This is a portrait of his big love Lilly . The quilt is about30 by 20 centimeters (8 by 12 inches).
The name of the turtle is Stoffel, so that's what I quilted in the border. The fabric in the background is one my mother dyed herself and is meant to resemble the sea and beach, because Lilly is a sea turtle.
The pattern is not my own, I used a finding nemo pattern and added eyelashes.

I think the tie in with family and the hand work here is even cooler than the cuteness of the quilt.
sometimes you just have to have the right colors.!
